About Michael D. Rochelle

Lieutenant General, USA (Retired) Michael Rochelle is the founder and President of MDR Strategies, LLC, a leadership development and executive coaching firm based in Northern Virginia. With an esteemed military career that culminated as the U.S. Army's Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel (G-1), General Rochelle has led the Army's human resources operations for 1.1 million personnel, making him the Army's top human resources officer.

Upon retiring from the U.S. Army in 2009, General Rochelle launched MDR Strategies, LLC, where he provides executive coaching and leadership development services to a diverse global clientele. His work spans leadership development, team coaching, and executive consulting for organizations including Walmart, John Deere, and the U.S. Department of Energy, among others. His expertise in fostering strong leadership teams has been sought after by clients across corporate, academic, and governmental sectors.

Throughout his distinguished military career, General Rochelle served in various leadership positions worldwide, including Commanding General of U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Director of the U.S. Army Installation Management Agency, and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Soldier Support Institute. He also served as Senior Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense.

Following his transition to civilian leadership, General Rochelle has contributed to numerous boards and advisory panels. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), the Board of Directors for the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and the Board of Advisors for Bullseye Engagement, LLC.

General Rochelle holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Shippensburg State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Education from Norfolk State University. He has pursued numerous professional certifications in leadership coaching, including from George Mason University and the Global Team Coaching Institute.
